This is week on Cosmosis, around 30 minutes into the show, we are featuring 3 tracks from the Fettler.
Hailing from Minneapolis, MN, the Fettler has been making sound collages from thrift store vinyl since around 1997. He lists live sound mixing and sound design for top level plays and musicals, producing and releasing his music and home-brewing killer beer and mead in his credits.
For the Fettler, the usual method of operation is to choose an accomplice, find some choice sample as a starting point, layering or scrubbing away the track and then pass the piece to the accomplice. They layer, scrub, rinse and repeat until both parties scratch their chins and nod in approval.
